As such, this has been a quiet "school" week. Normally I would share their weekly posts separately, because they are at very different stages, but I just don't have a lot of pictures, so I am combining them.
Emory is 30 months old
Elliott is 5 years old
Elliott has spent a little time playing different apps on the iPod, including Teach Me Kindergarten. Both boys also enjoyed a couple of episodes of LeapFrog on Netflix this week.
We are still enjoying many readings. You can take A Peek at our Bookshelf to see just a few of the boys' other picks this week.
We did have a couple special Valentine's lunches and snacks this week.
There was some puzzle play.
Elliott worked on writing the alphabet.
He also did a letter 'E' maze.
Elliott has decided he wants to learn about dinosaurs, so we are taking advantage of a homeschool discount to visit the Creation Museum since they have an exhibit on dinosaurs too. I'm in the process of planning a few dinosaur related-activities for next week, but for now, I've changed his Pre-Writing Notebook to include a few mazes and other activities that are somewhat related to dinosaurs.
Emory worked on his own school work beside his brother.
Emory also spent a lot of time playing with his Melissa and Doug Animal Stacking Blocks and talking about the animals.
I did add a new storage cart to our school/playroom this week. I haven't started utilizing it the way I have planned yet, but I am hoping it will help me get more organized and lessen the amount of time I am scurrying around to gather supplies.
There was a lot of imaginative play this week too! My storage cart was delivered in a large box...I think it was a ship, a villain and who knows what else?
Getting ready to blast off in my suitcase is a favorite whenever we're preparing for a trip.
Update: We're back from our mini-vacation and had a great time. Check out our visit to the Creation Museum and the Newport Aquarium!

ReplyDeleteOur boys are close in age, but mine are a little younger. How great that you get to go to the Creation Museum! If only I lived close by :(. I love the pic of your boys in the suitcase, very cute!
ReplyDeleteI love your boys in the suitcase. That is totally something my 10 year old would have done when she was younger (and still might).
ReplyDeleteHave a nice trip!
